My Story...
Hesitant for years to take any medication orally for my never-a-clear-for-a-moment-in-ten-years acne, I finally came to a point where I just did not want to fight it anymore. (Perhaps the looming thirtieth birthday also jump-started my desire to finally solve this problem once and for all.) With every possible prescription topical ointment in my bathroom, I decided that it's obvious that my battle with acne won't be won above the surface - but below.
I did have a brief stint on tetracycline, but it wreaked havoc on my digestive tract and it compromised my lifestyle more than the acne itself. So, it was a huge decision for me to decide to give Accutane a try as I was so skeptical about the potential serious side effects associated with taking it. The online Accutane journals that I read played a significant role in my decision to take the plunge, so I thought it was rather fitting that I give an online journal a go as well, in the hopes that it may be useful for someone else about to make the big decision.
